Well, it wasn't High School Musical 2

It just occurred to me that because I was so focused on my uncle's death yesterday, I didn't post anything in response to my first day with the high schoolers in Sunday school. Sorry! You know I fretted a bit over the whole thing AND for no avail! Argh!! Why do I continue to do that?? I lay the problem at His feet, then snatch it back. Okay, okay. I get it. . and I'm learning just a bit slowly.

Anyway, the class was actually okay. And yes, I mean just okay. It certainly didn't go as smoothly as High School Musical 2, but then again Real Life (play on words here folks, this is actually the name of my church) seldom does. We had a few technical difficulties with the DVD clip, but I managed to show the clip on my laptop (that I brought as back-up). And the praise band was practicing so it was a little loud in our room, not really a problem for the teens, except when they were straining to hear the DVD clip on my computer.

It was a small group and likely will be for a while, but they're good kids. So just keep it in prayer folks. God is working at my church that's for sure! But a little prayerful reminder every now and again never hurts.

Thanks bunches, my prayerful Siestas!

Nice that God doesn't require us to do High School Musical 2, isn't it?! Seriously, I prayed for you and wondered how it went, but I also knew you ended up with plenty else on your plate by Sunday afternoon. I am glad you're working with a group of kids you enjoy. They are so very blessed to have you as their teacher. And truly, you never know what "little" things you say or do may have a lasting impact. I know I can remember teachers from both school and church who taught me very specific, valuable lessons and teachers who loved me -- a priceless gift in itself. As you continue teaching this class, I don't know the details of "how it's gonna look," but I am confident of one thing: God will bless you and those kids in the endeavor.

Please take good care of you in these days to come. You know I'll keep praying for you!

I LOVE YOUTH! Yes, I knew we would get along famously! Seriously, if you ever need a "special speaker" for your group, call on me girl! This preacher girl has a heart for teens! I love to see them lit up for God and moving in Him. Yay for you that you get to spend time with them every week! That rocks!

I have yet to see HSM2 or HSM for that matter, but I am pretty confident that it is not real life! Glad that it went smoothly. Know that your time and dedication to these teens speaks volumes and will last with them forever!

Cheryl,
You're doing better than I did with teens. I gave it a try many years ago, for all the wrong reasons. #1 WORST reason- because nobody else would. And of course, it was a disaster. You have the Lord on your side. Those He calls, He equips! I'll remember your class in prayer.

Hey there! I have been enjoying reading your comments in other places. I read your profile and thought, "Hey I wonder if she's near where I grew up?" I grew up in Brighton, IL and was born in Alton. If you like good steak, try Tony's in Alton, you will love it! We moved to Texas when I was 10, because my Dad was transferred when the General Motors plant in St. Louis closed.

Praying for your kids that you teach...may they learn and grow and love Jesus!
Blessings,
Holly
