Just Another Sleepless in St. Louis Night
It's late or I guess early--the wee hours of the morning. It will surprise no one who is a regular reader of this blog that I'm awake and well. . . blogging!
Do I ever sleep? I've been asked this question many times. The answer of course is yes, but that sleep is often interrupted. Tonight I watched American Idol while I was talking to my BFF on the phone. After the show I did a bit of household business and settled in to be to watch CSI NY. And immediately fell asleep. I woke up about 2 am when my hubby came in. Now, I can't get back to sleep. So obviously I'm here blogging, watching a late night re-run of the tonight show.
In a bit, I'm going to shut down the computer and attempt to catch some more ZZZZ's. Before I hit the hay I have a few questions for you. Do you sleep solidly? What do you do when you can't sleep? And of course the BIG question. . .Just when during the day do you blog???
Okay that's enough for this sleep deprived Prof. If I can take the liberty to steal a bit from Ryan Seacrest of American Idol fame, it's time for me to simply say, "Profbaugh out!"

Cheryl-
I can relate. And I have found that when I don't get enough exercise, I am much more restless in my sleep and wake up waaaaaay too early. I live in Ohio and like St. Louis, it's not easy to get on your tennis shoes and just go walk when it's very, very cold with snow and ice on the roads. Not to mention, getting over pneumonia like you are.
Perhaps a trip to the mall when you are feeling better. Warm conditions to stroll around in. :)
Hope it gets better!

Well, I sleep very soundly at night bc I take one Tylenol PM at bedtime...I began that getting up in the middle of night thing and it was killing me. So...I was too chicken to ask for anything Rx strength but new I needed some help.
And...I blog during the day....my mind never stops swirling so between home and being at church, I can blog during the day hours.
I don't see how you function with that interrupted sleep.... :) I'm CRAZY when I don't sleep well.
Ok...hope you have a great day!
Hugs~

I feel your pain! :) Did you get to sleep?
I go in spurts...When I'm not on overload at work, I sleep really well. Anytime that "stress ball" tips the scale I'm up throughout the night. When sleep doesn't come easily- I pray or read.
I am in the same boat as you. Some nights I sleep through, most I don't. I HATE it when I fall asleep between 10 & 11 and then end up awake at 2:30. Seriously, if I fall asleep anytime before 11, I can pretty much plan on being up in the middle of the night. It vexes me so. I usually hop on the computer, read or watch Nick at Nite in bed. Ugggggg.
I don't know if it means anything, but I always fall asleep if I start praying while I lay in the dark.
I can't find any good time to blog!! I've tried early, late and in between. Just when I can't hold the thoughts in any longer-I go do it.
It is hit and miss sleep wise for me. If my knees hurt, there isn't any sleep, or if I have a ton of stuff to get done at work, I don't sleep so well. I love the nights when I declare I slept through the night without getting up once.
My best time to blog is when I get home from work or early in the morning when I am off of work. The best time to blog is when I have a thought cause if I don't get it down, it may never come this way again.
Cheryl, I should have gotten on the internet and seached the blogs too!! 'Cause I was up watching "Trauma, Life in the ER" on the Discovery Health Channel!! It is a sleeping pattern that has developed over the past few months. I too get in my recliner to watch TV or the news, but immediately go to sleep and then, well, wake up in the middle of the night! And usually, cannot go back to sleep!!
I usually try to blog early mornings....sometimes (if I have not hit the recliner) I may do so in the evenings, but morning, before work is better for me!
oh i SO hope you found rest!!!
Oh I totally sympathize with you! My hubby often works late on his laptop and once I wake up it is hard to get back to sleep.
I did the disservice to myself though a few weekends ago b/c I started reading a new book. I don't read (I LOVE to read but never seem to have time). I also tend to be one that once I start reading I MUST finish the book. Well I started this book at 8pm one night and finished at 4:30am the next morning. I WAS SO TIRED but I would not have been able to sleep if I did not know what happened - hehe
I know I am nuts!
God bless sweet siesta!
