Real Faith is in the God Box!

Pastor Craig Groeschel recently used the following illustration in a sermon:

It involved two boxes. One box had “me” written on it. One had “God” written on it. He simply showed how we often give things to God… then take them back. At the end of the illustration, He suggested that real faith is when we don’t just hand things to God, but give our lives totally to Him. Then he put the “me” box into the “God” box. Wow!! Is this a powerful illustration or what? I don't know about you, but I want to be in the God box, not out there on my own given Him my stuff and then taking it back.

So I'll follow Peter's example and simply say "Take all of me LORD!"

oh thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou
I showed my 16-year-old son this post and said to him---"Now, go fot it." His Bible project was to illustrate a psalm using any medium creating a project and a 300 word paper. He chose Psalm 139. He made a God Box (painted a large shoe box white) and a Me Box (painted a slightly smaller one black)...On the God box, he labeled it on the outside with attributes of God...on outside of his Me Box, he labeled his qualities like "crazy" and "fun" and "athlete" and "leader" and you got the picture. His paper was precious about how he gives His qualities to God in the God box but God wants all of him...He wants "me" in the God box. It was a great lesson for him and can't thank you enough for the prompt. It was a God thing...and we'll keep that God Box and Me Box for a long time!
