Prayer Request for My Dad

My heart is tender at the moment and this is a little hard to type through the tears. I just got off the phone with my Dad. Two weeks ago he had surgery to remove a cancerous growth from the bottom of his eye lid. He returned today for a follow-up and the pathology showed that the cancer was indeed still there. He's scheduled again, January 2 for more surgery to remove more of the bottom eye lid.

My dad is a pretty positive person with an equally strong relationship with Christ. I rarely find him in a "down" mood. Tonight however, was extremely tough for him to share this news with me and as you might imagine equally difficult for me to hear.

All this is in addition to another cancerous spot on the side of his nose, which he has yet another specialist appointment.

Please pray for my dad, Bill--for complete healing. Of equal importance pray that he feels the very real comfort that only God can provide, perhaps even discovering Him in a new and more intimate way. And of course, my family could use some prayers too. I'm afraid we're all a little shook up right now.

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. ~James 5: 14-15

As you know if you've been reading this blog, the Holy Spirit has been speaking and moving in a mighty way in my own life recently. So, I'm trusting Master Healer to accomplish His perfect will in this situation. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

For those of you who might be visual prayer warriors you can go back here to see a picture of me, my dad and mom from a past post.

With Love in Christ,
~Cheryl

Keeping your dad in prayer as well as your family. I can still remember the moment that my daddy's doctor called us all together and told us daddy had 3-6 month to live. He lived 5 months but those were the best 5 months because we were with him around the clock, talking and sharing and loving.
My prayer is that your dad will be completely healed and that you and your family will find a renewed strength during this time.
Blessings on you, Cheryl.

Cheryl,

So sorry to hear this sad news. I am praying for God to remember his servant today. There are often times that we can't see God's hand
but have to trust that He is there.

Keep us posted...

I will be praying for your father and you!! I am a testimony of God healing me from cancer almost 5 years ago. I have a special place in my heart for those who have cancer. My mom and dad both have cancer but I have seen God's powerful healing in their lives and I am believing God to move in a BIG way for your dad. I have had this song in my head since I woke up this morning and I had no clue of thw words or anything. God put this song in my heart and I looked it up on YouTube. It's called The Presence of the Lord. Look this up and listen to the song, I think it will minister to you!
Love,
Patty

Dear Cheryl, may the prayers of God's people become like wings that carry your parents and you through these next weeks.

My husband has survived lymphoma three times since 1996. I believe the things you've been going through and the precious time with the Holy Spirit have been preparing you for this experience. Now just sit in His lap and watch how he's going to take care of your family.

Cheryl, I have followed your weighty words and huge heart for months but have never commented but here goes. Your prayer request on LPM so struck my heart as you are dealing with the fray of your heart and I've prayed for you to find the God you honor and love so much and I know you are. You bless so many people with weighty words. I love your words of kindness, encouragement, fun, wisdom, and vision. You're a great blogger. You're a great friend! You're a great lover! Nice to officially meet you. I always look for your words but I'm really looking for your heart. Bev
